Babies have a way of arriving before their parents are fully prepared. Thanks to Soroptimist International of Hood River — and you — they can get a leg up on their new world.
For the sixth year, SIHR is hosting its’ annual Community Baby Shower to help babies born to families without all the necessary resources.
From Friday, May 26, through Friday, June 1, anyone can buy and contribute to the “shower.” Donations will go to the The Next Door’s New Parent Services in Hood River and Families First in The Dalles. Their staff people support families expecting their first babies.
Interested? You have several ways to donate. Employees of participating businesses can donate there. Otherwise, drop off goodies at Columbia River Bank, CenterPointe Community Bank, Providence Hood River Hospital, Mid-Columbia Medical Center, Next Door Inc Offices, Walgreens and Bambinos Hood River.
The project needs these new, unwrapped, gender-neutral shower gifts:
- Disposable diapers (newborn & larger sizes)
- Baby oil, shampoo, wash, wipes
- Teething supplies
- Glass bottles
- Diaper rash ointment
- Disposable cameras, photo albums
- Baby toys, board books
- Receiving blankets, quilts
- Socks, booties, hats
Or you can contribute cash or checks (made payable to SIHR) at Center Pointe Bank or mailed to P.O. Box 51, Hood River, OR 97031.
